No person should live a life burdened by depression, grief, anxiety, relationship problems, or any of life’s stressors without having a support system to go to for relief and guidance. Fortunately, Catholic Social Services of Rapid City offers top-notch counseling services to those in need throughout Rapid City, the Black Hills, and Western South Dakota.
Uplifting Parents
Catholic Social Services of Rapid City proudly provides funding and mentoring for single parents working towards their college degree through our Uplifting Parents Program in Rapid City. Geared to empower single parent families to advance their education, CSS works with over thirty coalition partner agencies throughout the Black Hills to uplift the lives of our mentees.
Trinity Family Services and Adoption
Trinity Family Services and Adoption provides life-changing services ranging from adoption to contract work and support for those who are pregnant, or navigating the waters of adoption. Serving local families across Western South Dakota, Trinity is renowned for their commitment to those in need.
St. Anne's Aging Services
A new initiative by Catholic Social Services (CSS) dedicated to supporting the growing (and longer living) senior population in Rapid City, SD. St. Anne's, an innovative home-sharing program, envisions connecting seniors with compatible housemates. Seniors (age 62+) offer a room in their home in exchange for reduced rent and light assistance (5–8 hours/week) with household tasks.
Disaster Relief andCatholic Social Services is a leading provider of Disaster Relief Services throughout the state of South Dakota. Operating as a beacon of hope for those affected by disasters such as fires and floods, CSS has a devoted disaster team that offers aid in times of critical need, while also looking for opportunities to nurture and enrich the communities we live in.
Educational Workshops
Our uniquely trained staff provides workshops for groups throughout Western South Dakota on topics ranging from alcohol and drugs to trauma, mental health, marriage counseling, and suicide prevention. With access to these educational workshops, we give those we serve the opportunity to flourish and enrich themselves with training pertaining to their unique needs.

Start Making it Livable for Everyone (SMILE) is an educational program to provide information for separating/divorced parents with minor children.
Mental Health First Aid
Catholic Social Services of Rapid City is a leader in mental health education. Our Mental Health First Aid course takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance abuse problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance abuse disorder.
Question. Persuade. Refer. (QPR)
We can all save lives. The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. The signs of crisis are all around us. We believe that quality education empowers all people, regardless of their background, to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know.
Common Sense Parenting
Common Sense Parenting© (CSP) is a group-based parent-training class designed for parents of youths aged 6–16 who exhibit significant behavior and emotional problems. The objective of the program is to teach positive parenting techniques and behavior management strategies to help increase positive behavior, decrease negative behavior, and model appropriate alternative behavior for children.
Lakota Circles of Hope
Lakota Circles of Hope (LCH) is an innovative culturally specific prevention curriculum that teaches students how to use their culture to deal more effectively with risky behaviors such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco usage, bullying, and suicide.
