At any given time of the year 1 out of 5 people will experience a mental health crisis or start to develop a mental health condition. Mental Health First Aid is a training that is available for anyone aged 18 and older who wants to know more about how to be a person who can help someone in a mental health crisis. You do not need to be a counselor or a mental health therapist to be of help to someone who experiences mental health distress. This course will give you the action steps you need to become confident in your ability to be an effective helper. Learn more about all the different types of courses, continuing education credits, and how to become certified and when to get re-certified.

Catholic Social Services Family Services Department is excited to facilitate, “Resilient Connections: Foster and Adoptive Parent Support Group.” This group will be held via zoom on the last Friday of the month. This group will utilize the group curriculum “The Connection, Where Hearts Meet.” by Karyn Purvis, PhD with Elizabeth Styffe.
It is recommended to obtain a copy of the book, “The Connected Child: Bring Hope and Healing to Your Adoptive Family” by Karyn Purvis and David Cross, to accompany this support group.
